Charo Welle, Administrator (2016-2020) of the ATA Spanish Language Division, interviewed Ártemis López during the American Translators Association (ATA) 60th Annual Conference, in Palm Springs, California. Ártemis, who has an MA in medical translation, is a PhD Candidate in Linguistics at the Universidad de Vigo, Spain, a certified translator and interpreter for queer, trans, and non-binary communities in the US and Spain, and a longtime member of the English-speaking and Spanish-speaking queer, trans, and non-binary communities. As a translator and interpreter for these communities, Ártemis shares their professional experience with us to help us understand from a linguistic perspective the current use of the non-binary language so that we can recognize their community within our social contexts.

Charo Welle, administradora de la División de Español de la ATA (ciclo 2016-2020), entrevistó a Ártemis López durante el 60.° Congreso Anual de la American Translators Association (ATA), celebrado en Palm Springs, California. Ártemis, magíster en traducción médica, doctorande en Lingüística de la Universidad de Vigo, España y traductore e intérprete certificade para las comunidades de personas trans, no binarias y queer de EE. UU. y España, es miembro desde hace tiempo de las comunidades anglohablantes e hispanohablantes de personas trans, no binarias y queer. Como traductore e intérprete para estas comunidades, Ártemis comparte su experiencia profesional con nosotres para que podamos comprender el uso actual del lenguaje no binario desde una perspectiva lingüística y tener en cuenta a su comunidad en nuestros contextos sociales.
