Dear ATA SPD members,

As it was announced during the 2022 SPD Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 1, the election of SPD officers is held every two years in accordance with the ATA Governing Policy for Divisions.

On August 2, the SPD Nominating Committee and ATA HQ announced the 2022 SPD Election Results, and the newly elected SPD officers are:

• Administrator: Edna Lucía Santizo (2020-2024)
• Assistant Administrator: Gabriela Escarrá (2022-2024)

Edna Santizo (Bio) is starting her second and last term as SPD Administrator, and Gabriela Escarrá (Bio) will start her term as incoming SPD Assistant Administrator. Their term began during SPD’s Annual Meeting on October 1.

Both Edna and Gabriela are long-standing ATA members and they have been actively involved in the SPD in different committees and as members of the SPD Leadership Council.

The SPD extends a warm welcome to both Edna and Gabriela as they begin this new chapter for the ATA Spanish Language Division (SPD). We are grateful for your commitment and leadership!

As part of this transition, we extend our gratitude to outgoing SPD Assistant Adm., Andy Benzo for her energy and enthusiasm during her tenure.
