Set against the vibrant backdrop of Miami, Elévate 2026 will spotlight innovation, quality, and professional growth in translation and interpreting. This three-day conference is jointly organized by the Spanish Language Division of the American Translators Association (SPD) and the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Florida (ATIF), and hosted by the Steven J. Green School at Florida International University (FIU).

Our conference name, “Elévate,” reflects our commitment to celebrating the richness of the Spanish language and staying relevant as language professionals in an evolving field. We invite proposals for sessions that offer practical insights, specialized knowledge, and forward-thinking strategies for translators and interpreters.

What We’re Looking For
We welcome session proposals that cover topics such as:

• Translation (skills development, technology, ethics, and professionalism)
• Interpretation (skills development, technology, ethics, and professionalism)
• Business & marketing for language professionals
• Spanish language and linguistics
• Other topics relevant to professional growth in the T&I field

Sessions may be presented in Spanish or English, with priority given to Spanish-language presentations.

• Complimentary registration for Elévate 2026
• USD 300 honorarium per session
  Note: Travel, lodging, meals, and other expenses are not reimbursed.
  

Important Dates

• Deadline to submit proposals: Friday, November 21, 2025, at 11:59 ET
• Notifications of acceptance will be sent in early December.
  Proposals can be submitted in English or Spanish.
